   Village Clean-Up day    5 June, 2015

Best Kept Village?

The Parish Council has entered Chalfont St Giles in the county Best Kept Village competition which will be judged soon. In 2010 we won it. Would we win it today?

At the moment the place looks a mess - with even stinging nettles and thistles growing from the building line in the High Street, particularly from places that are empty.

Volunteers from the Parish Council will be out and about during this week strimming, weeding and planting in several key areas.

We have designated Saturday 6th June as “Village Clean-Up day.”

Parish Councillors and BAT4CSG members will meet on the Village Green at 10am and give their time until 12 to pick up rubbish, remove weeds, cut back overhanging branches and do what we can to tidy up.

Will you join us?

If you can, please bring your own gardening or rubber gloves and a black sack. If you have any gardening tools, or an old table knife for cutting weeds from between stones, please bring them, otherwise we will share what we have.

Alternatively, why not spend a couple of hours cleaning up your street?

Let’s make Chalfont St Giles a place we can be proud of again.

Thank you
